So. It’s June. That means a season of celebrating diversity, a thing that even to this day isn’t always valued. I think that’s why I wanted to take a moment to say something that’s important to me.

VISIØN is ultimately a glimpse forward into the future through a retro lens. It’s about the dreams of our past, about the exciting new tech of today, and thinking toward where we go from here. For us, diversity is a big part of that. The songs say it for us if you listen closely, and it’s not something we exactly hide. It isn’t necessarily spelled out in so many words, but it’s literally threaded through everything we do. It’s a part of who we are… people who think differently than others do, people who love differently than others do, people who experience the world in a way that’s completely unique.

Of course, this is true of everybody. There are as many viewpoints in the world as there have ever been people, and that number is only increasing. I like to think that our vision of the future includes a world where people can notice those differences, acknowledge them, and truly appreciate and support each other. It’s right there in the first album we released: “To each, their own. We all belong.” That means something. We don’t all think the same, or look the same, or love the same… but we’re all human, and the fact that we have the capacity to love each other, regardless of how, is an amazing thing.

It’s something we should all be able to celebrate, and speak aloud, despite those who might try to silence us. The world today is under a lot of strain, so I suppose it’s not so much in spite of that as because of it that I felt a desire to post today, and to say two very important words, to anybody who needs to hear them:
